Before the holiday season ends, it’s likely that many of us will be required to prepare some sort of festive, party appetizer for sharing. Whatever this merry-filled occasion may be, we would like to suggest the humble, holiday pinwheel as your appetizer of choice. Yes, we understand that pinwheels are not necessarily culinary cutting edge, but before you bah-hum-bug the idea completely, consider this: these easy-to-eat, bite-sized pieces are undeniably delicious and contain all of the necessary ingredients to minimize your holiday cooking stress. Here’s why…

‘Twas the Night Before the Party Pinwheels are time savers, and you can easily make them the night before your event. They keep best when wrapped tightly in plastic, refrigerated, and sliced just before serving.

Fill Them with Comfort & Joy Pinwheels are customizable. Spread them with your heart’s desire of soft cheeses such as goat, brie, or your favorite cream cheese. Fill them with simple deli or cured meats, such as salami or prosciutto, and stuff them with elegant, crisp greens such as arugula, watercress, or mixed baby greens. It’s actually hard to mess up a pinwheel!

Eat, Drink, and Be Merry! Pinwheels are fun to eat and make the balance between socializing and eating a breeze. Hands are usually full at holiday parties and pinwheels are easy to pop in your mouth without missing a beat.
