First and foremost, we want to extend a HUGE thank you to the medical community and the essential workers on the front lines who are working hard to protect and nourish our communities, while taking care of their own. Our family of employees included. We are forever grateful to our team who has been working around the clock to continue to make and ship our products to our grocery partners and through our online store.

The short answer to this question, is here at La Tortilla Factory we have been doing A LOT to protect our internal teams, partners, and customers. Health and safety is paramount. We have been taking every extra precaution to produce our products with care and with the health and safety of all of us in mind.

Our commitment to quality ingredients, production, and sanitation standards has always been best-in-class. As a critical member of our food supply, we are deemed as an essential service and are monitored by the Department of Health as a food-safe facility as well as the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

During these uncertain times and navigating the effects of COVID-19, here is a list of some specific actions we have taken:
– We have always followed a set of GMPs (Good Manufacturing Procedures) that are set forth by the US Food and Drug Administration which includes things like hand washing stations and a separate smock room where employees dress in aprons, hairnets, gloves, etc.
– We have implemented extra sanitation procedures including extra hand sanitizer availability, extra handwashing rules, extra sanitizer added to our mop cleaning water, and more frequent cleaning of shared surfaces to our already robust sanitation schedule.
– Social Distancing procedures are in place throughout including how employees clock-in, store personal belongings, take breaks and eat lunch. For our office employees, this also means working from home to reduce the number of people in our buildings.
– We have restricted visitors to our entire campus- that includes in the office and within our production facilities.
– We are limiting our movement between our facilities.
– There is a travel ban in place for non-essential travel and outside meetings, which essentially means no travel unless it is to procure ingredients or deliver final products to our grocery partners.
– Our team of Direct-Store-Delivery drivers is equipped with disposable gloves for all deliveries as well as personal hand sanitizer.
– We are also in constant communication with our workforce and are ready to react as the situation changes.

We encourage you to listen to the guidelines set forth by your state and local officials. It is the responsibility of all of us to do our part, stay home whenever possible, and to help flatten the curve to help make it safer for those working hard to protect, treat, and sustain us. We’re all in this together. And we thank you for your patience, understanding, and continued support!
